Climate change is of interest to many young people, and now they have more than one climate leader. Greta Thunberg is well-known for her ‘house is on fire’ rhetoric – an alarmist view of climate; less well-known is German teenager Naomi Seibt who rejects climate alarmism and calls for climate realism. This video explores six points that people often use as evidence of climate catastrophe, but the CLINTEL climate intelligence group shows things are not so black and white. Climate despair, eco-anxiety, climate grief, climate rage, climate depression. All of these are part of our lives now. There are Millenials and Gen Zs deciding not to have children because of their climate fears. Katie O’Reilly wrote in an article for the Sierra Club, “I’m worried that if I procreate, I will contribute to melting ice caps, rising seas, and extreme weather. Worse, I might create brand-new victims of climate change—people who never asked to be part of this human-made mess.” She goes on later to equate children to “consumption machines.” Caroline Hickman, a member of the Climate Psychology Alliance, has counseled parents who have actually fantasized about killing their children out of fear “of the climate-ravaged future.”
Children are not consumption machines
With the number of adults who consider children to be nothing more than consumption machines, is it any wonder that children around the world are feeling depression, anxiety and guilt more than ever before. From the time they can comprehend what climate is, they are being told over and over again by parents, teachers, the news that the world is doomed and, oh, by the way, it’s your fault. There are no official counts to the number of children who have committed suicide specifically out of fear and guilt over climate change. There is only the fact that the rates of suicide among children, teens and young adults is growing.
Climate alarmists want you to believe global warming is causing the increase in suicides. The heat is affecting everyone and decreasing people’s ability to think clearly and make sound decisions, they say. I don’t know about you, but I find it more than a little hard to believe heat-addled brains are the cause.
Being told day after day after day that your carbon footprint is causing the end of the world is a burden no child should have to bear. Patrick Moore put it well, “Young people have always been vulnerable to feelings of hopelessness. Greta is fueling those fears.” But Greta is just the face that was chosen to market those fears to young people. She did not come up with these ideas. She admits to going into depression after learning about climate change as a young girl. Isn’t it ironic that she is now being pushed to the forefront and is frightening a whole new wave of children into panic and despair?
It isn’t over yet
These children need to be told the other side of the story. There always is one. Climate change is nothing new. The climate has been changing since the beginning of time. There have been hot periods; there have been cold periods. Humans had nothing to do with them. And if having no control over climate change is still a frightening thought to a child, reassure them that we are all still here. That climate-related deaths are the lowest they have been since there have been records of such things. Change is often a good thing. They changed from babies to kids, and soon to adults. The world is doing the same thing, and we get to be here to enjoy some of it.

A fed-up father has pulled his son out of school and has accused staff of brainwashing children, after the climate movement made its way in to his son’s Year 4 classroom.Around the country thousands of students have taken to the streets to protest on climate change, but Matthew Karlos is infuriated about the topic being taught at his son’s state school claiming, “it’s ridiculous, absolutely ridiculous.”Mr Karlos’ 10-year-old son Max told A Current Affair reporter Pippa Bradshaw “they asked us all to dress up as hippies, and sing this song, big yellow taxi.””We shouldn’t be worrying about the end of the world,” he said.Agreeing with his son, Mr Karlos claims, “it’s just brainwashing the younger generations.”
The father and son duo are taking a stand against climate change activism.”They shouldn’t be teaching kids that, and yeah we shouldn’t toss away our rubbish like I said before, but we shouldn’t be worrying about the end of the world,” Max said.

The climate change debate has been front-and-centre of late after 16-year-old Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg called out politicians at the 2019 Climate Action Summit in New York on September 23, telling world leaders, “We will never forgive you.”
Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison responded to her controversial speech, emphasizing, “I think we’ve got to caution against raising the anxieties of children.”When Max was told that one of his last days of the term, would be a ‘Greenie day’ it was the final straw for the young boy and his dad.”All the other kids, ’cause (sic) we were all in the one class at the time, they were all going, yay we can dress up as hippies, and I just said, what’s so good about it? There’s nothing good about them,” Max said.
“They just sit around doing nothing all day.”Students were also expected to sing to the go-to environmental song Big Yellow Taxi, written by Joni Mitchell, which has been covered numerous times, including by pop band Counting Crows.Mr Karlos had already kept Max home weeks earlier when students were asked to give a speech on the environment.
“It was to do with mankind induced climate change and all this business they carry on about now,” he said. This father, who is a second generation water farmer, has long had a beef with greenies, who are against his water harvesting business in northern New South Wales. “They don’t like the trucks on the road, they don’t like this, they don’t like that you know, so here we are” he said.
And now he’s had enough of his son also getting the greenie message at his state school.”You’ve gotta (sic) teach kids to be happy and positive and it’s all well and good to be concerned about the environment and wanting to teach kids good practices and basically not be grubs and throw litter around and this sort of thing, but you don’t have to be a greenie to do that,” he said.Parenting expert Dr Justin Coulson believes teachers are better off keeping the message positive, when it comes to primary school children.
“We just want to be careful in an education context that we don’t cross into the political sphere too much … you don’t have to be a believer or a skeptic to buy into the fact that it’s a good idea to talk positively about what we can do to make our planet healthier,” Mr Coulson said.Mr Karlos believes scenes of protesting around the country, as well as activist Greta Thunberg speaking out, amounts to brainwashing.”The fact that you’ve got supposed adults … pushing ideas on a 16 year old girl and using her as a pawn, is just disgusting; it’s child abuse,” he said.
“Just stop brainwashing the kids and being negative and teach them how to be positive about making good positive changes for the world, not all doom and gloom.”In a statement to A Current Affair, a spokesperson for the New South Wales Department of Education said, “studying controversial issues is acceptable for educational purposes.”Max will now start at a new school at the beginning of term four.
Climate change is real, and it may well become more problematic in the future, but misrepresenting the science and terrifying children and young people is not the way to face the issues. Also on watts up with that
Here are some of the top reasons why Greta Thunberg is a pawn and a fraud, manufactured by PR firms and used by an army of globalist climate change alarmists that seek to gain more financial and political control. They are creating an apocalyptic cult obsesses with the end of the world.
Greta Thunberg recently arrived in New York, after traveling across the Atlantic to make a point about climate change. Over in America people might think Greta is a teenage superstar, but in Sweden she’s known as a publicity stunt. Nothing personal against Greta, I care very much about the climate myself. The theory of global warming isn’t entirely without merit, but there are better ways of caring for our earth and climate than sacrificing democracy. Sky News host Andrew Bolt believes 16-year-old activist Greta Thunberg’s climate emergency “is nonsense”, and “that is exactly why green extremists are now hiding behind children”.
29 August 2019
St Greta of Thunberg – Patron Saint of the Age of Stupid – has made landfall in the New World, there to preach to the unbelievers her gospel of imminent climate doom.
“The war on nature must end,” she has declared, to anyone who is listening.
Though St Greta has become a figure of huge influence in Europe – feted by Popes, presidents and prime ministers, lauded with uncritical coverage in the mainstream media, put forward for a Nobel Peace Prize – it seems likely that in the United States she will get a more mixed reception.
While the left will most certainly try to shoehorn her into their Green New Deal campaign, the right may be less convinced.
That’s because, unlike a worrying number of their counterparts across the pond, U.S. conservatives understand St Greta’s environmental scare narrative for what it is: a hoax.
Especially, it’s an anti-American hoax. As Rupert Darwall describes in some detail in his book Green Tyranny (listen to the podcast interview here) the global warming scare was cooked up largely by European leftists (the Swedes and Germans being the worst offenders) with the purpose of destroying Western Industrial Civilization – U.S. Industrial Civilization in particular.
To understand how utterly specious St Greta’s gospel of apocalypse is, a good place to start is this excellent video by Tony Heller.
Heller has a nice line in dry sarcasm:
“Greta will go to the UN next week and read a speech which was carefully prepared for her by some of the world’s leading propagandists.”
And he has the measure of Greta’s propaganda litany:
“She will say that children of her generation face a terrible future of heat, famine, disease and every other imaginable natural disaster. Basically, she will describe a life which is the exact opposite of the charmed life that she is living. And her prophecies of doom will be described by the press as a magnet for hope. Her message of hope will be that if we simply lower carbon dioxide levels to those of the pre-industrial era everything will be fine…”
Did the world’s children really have it easier in the era before catastrophic man-made carbon emissions ruined everything?
Heller points out that just over a century ago, New York was in the grip of a polio epidemic. Are we really to believe that the children of tomorrow are going to be looking back enviously at their early 20th century forebears and wishing: “If only I could be crippled with polio, like kids were in the good old days!”
The polio epidemic spread all over the country. This 1916 photo was taken in Billings, Montana. (At least the children didn’t have to face an extra 0.0001 mole fraction CO2 in the atmosphere.)
Two years after the 1916 New York polio outbreak came the worst pandemic in history – the Spanish flu outbreak which killed as many as 40 million people, most of them young.
Greta – and those behind her – need to get a sense of historical perspective.
They also need a better grasp of climatology.
In the U.S. most of the hottest days in the last 100 years occurred during the early part of the 20th century.
US August 22 afternoon temperatures have been declining since 1895.
The likelihood of hot weather has also been declining, with recent years among the coolest on record.
Yet how often do you hear these climate facts from the alarmist mainstream media?
It has become a trope of the climate alarmist Establishment and its various useful idiots that to attack Greta Thunberg is somehow cruel or immoral or unfair; that the people who do so are motivated by misogyny or the bitterness of old age or all those payments they are getting from Big Oil…
The problem with Greta Thunberg is not that she’s a 16-year-old girl with pigtails.
The problem with Greta Thunberg is not that she’s a school drop out.
The problem with Greta Thunberg is not she’s autistic.
There are hundreds of thousands of other kids around the world with some or all of these features – and none is being criticised for having them.
No, the problem with Greta Thunberg is that no matter how brave or inspirational or articulate or touchingly young and fresh-faced or triumphant-over-mental-adversity she may be, the “facts” she regurgitates on behalf of her controllers are lies, propaganda and fake news – and the cause she represents is downright evil.
Strip away all the fluffy invocations of nature and the plight of future generations and the alleged crisis facing mother earth and what you find underneath is pure totalitarianism.
It’s no secret conspiracy. I wrote a book about it nearly ten years ago – Watermelons – and I can assure you there is nothing secret about the green movement’s totalitarian masterplan for anyone prepared to do a little background reading. Rather this is a conspiracy in plain sight.
And it’s a very dangerous conspiracy. If the green totalitarians get their way, standards of living will plummet, energy prices will become even less affordable than they are now, freedoms will become more constricted, more wildlife will be obliterated and more landscapes ruined by bat-chomping, bird-slicing eco-crucifixes, more money will be concentrated in the hand of a liberal-left oligarchy – none of it contributing the slightest material improvement to the state of the planet.
Greta Thunberg is currently the most prominent representative of that totalitarian movement.
Like it or not, cruel or no, that makes her the face of evil.
