(NaturalNews) A coalition of farmers, activists and citizens has successfully stopped the expansion of a Monsanto seed facility in Malvinas, Argentina. Tired of being poisoned by GMOs, the activists managed to stop construction of the plant by descending on the property in masses and refusing to leave. (NaturalNews) GMO skeptics like myself have been warning for years of the unintended consequences of genetic pollution. Even when genetically engineered organisms are released into the world with the best of intentions, such actions can wreak havoc on the ecosystem and human civilization in ways that simply can’t be foreseen by the world’s most well-meaning scientists.
I specifically warned about this in 2012, listing the top 12 threats to humanity posed by out of control science. In that infographic, I designated “Level 4” hazards as “Self-replicating pollution,” naming genetically engineered organisms as the vector for such threats against humanity. (In the years since, many top science figures like Stephen Hawking and Elon Musk have repeated the warnings from my list, including threats from AI.) A federal appeals court in the US has rejected a decision by the Environmental Protection Agency to approve an insecticide harmful to honeybees without proper verification of the chemical’s effects.
The US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit ruled Thursday that the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) improperly approved and registered the pesticide sulfoxaflor, made by Dow AgroSciences, in violation of the agency’s regulatory protocol.
Environmentalists and representatives of the honey and beekeeping industries said sulfoxalfor is a type of insecticide chemical known as a neonicotinoid that is associated with mass death among bee populations worldwide.
The court agreed with sulfoxaflor’s neonicotinoid status in its ruling, finding that the EPA based its regulatory decision on “flawed and limited data,” and that sulfoxaflor approval was not based around “substantial evidence.” Continue reading Stinging rebuke: Court rules against EPA’s lax approval of Dow’s bee-poisonous pesticide

Biotech’s claims that genetically modified crops are more resistant to bugs seem to be dismissed like yesterday’s pastries, especially when their crops so obviously fail to deliver on the promise. So why are farmers still planting GM seed?
In a recent biotech debacle, a UK-based biotech company wasted over $5 million on an experimental GM wheat trial.
Rothamsted Research says it is “disappointed” that the transgenic crop, known as “whiffy wheat,” utterly failed to deter aphids. The crop was succumbing to the same amount of insect damage as real wheat, even though it was genetically engineered to be resistant to aphids. By training, I am a plant biologist. In the early 1990s I was busy making genetically modified plants (often called GMOs for Genetically Modified Organisms) as part of the research that led to my PhD. Into these plants we were putting DNA from various foreign organisms, such as viruses and bacteria.
I was not, at the outset, concerned about the possible effects of GM plants on human health or the environment. One reason for this lack of concern was that I was still a very young scientist, feeling my way in the complex world of biology and of scientific research. Another reason was that we hardly imagined that GMOs like ours would be grown or eaten. So far as I was concerned, all GMOs were for research purposes only.
Gradually, however, it became clear that certain companies thought differently. Some of my older colleagues shared their skepticism with me that commercial interests were running far ahead of scientific knowledge. I listened carefully and I didn’t disagree. Today, over twenty years later, GMO crops, especially soybeans, corn, papaya, canola and cotton, are commercially grown in numerous parts of the world. Will Russia lead the way in GMO-refusal?
Russian President, Vladimir Putin has led a strong stance against biotech and their cultivation of GM crops in his country. Now, the Russian Deputy Prime Minister, Arkady Dvorkovich, has announced at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum that Russia WILL NOT use GM crops to boost agricultural production.
Dvorkovich stated that the good quality of the soil across Russia’s land will allow the country to use other technological advances in agriculture, but GMOs won’t be one of them. Continue reading Russian Deputy Prime Minister: GMOs Will NOT be Tolerated

(NaturalNews) How does one voluntarily commit suicide without realizing it? The result of a slow, painful death is no different from a sudden unexpected death — the end of mortality. For starters, I am Jewish, so don’t take this the wrong way, but eating cancer-causing food designed by Nazi scientists is suicide, and it’s like walking into the gas chambers slowly, over time, getting dosed over and over again with “mustard-gas-food.” Pesticides infect most conventional foods in the USA today, and it’s all thanks to the same I.G. Farben Nazis from the second World War. Today’s food holocaust includes all the same ingredients, including fluoride in the water, that was given to Jews in the concentration camps to keep them weak so they wouldn’t fight back or think deep about their short future. They worked in factories making war materials and they were sick to death, literally, from the chemicals they were fed. Scientists in labs in Auschwitz ran insane experiments on humans as if they were lab rats, just the way chemotherapy and surgery are applied today to fix a blood disease known as cancer. We might as well be “bleeding humans out” like the old days. It’s just NOT working. In 10 years, 6 million or more Americans will die of cancer and/or chemotherapy treatment overdose, and that’s the same number of Jews who died in the Holocaust from being poisoned and murdered in the name of science, power and money. Sound familiar? Continue reading Jewish writer warns of GMO/biotech holocaust

(NaturalNews) Embattled Ukraine, which is currently under siege (practically) by a belligerent Russia, once upon a time used to be called the “Breadbasket of the Soviet Union,” because most of the U.S.S.R.’s food came from there.
Even after the U.S.S.R. dissolved, Ukraine continued to be productive agriculturally, though its production of other goods and services, by 1999, had fallen to 40 percent of what the country was producing in 1991, when the breakup took place, according to the CIA World Factbook.
But now, while the Ukrainian government faces off against a powerful Russian army, the country’s agricultural production is about to be ambushed as well, according to CounterPunch: Continue reading How Monsanto, the World Bank and the IMF are working to force GMOs into a destabilized Ukraine

(NaturalNews) The Obama Administration has been accused of pressuring Vietnam into rejecting the labeling of genetically modified foods, despite the passage in June of a law by Hanoi that would require it, for the benefit of U.S.-based agri- and biotech giants.
According to Thanh Nien News, the Vietnamese law required food makers to label all products containing more than 5 percent of ingredients from GMO substances, “including additives and flavorings.” Continue reading U.S. government bullied Vietnam into keeping GM foods unlabeled

Now that the Ebola situation has hit the 24/7 mainstream media zoo, serious questions are being raised as to why now.
After all, people were dying of Ebola in the hundreds in West Africa before this week. Aid workers and doctors were getting infected before. These things are not new, but the sudden media focus raises lots of questions. Continue reading 5 Questions About the Ebola Scare
