Chinese official says air pollution kills up to 500,000 a year

The equivalent of the population of the Wellington region dies each year in China because of air pollution, according to the country’s former Health Minister.

Chen Zhu, who is also a professor of medicine and a leading molecular biologist, is the most senior government official to put a human cost on the smog that regularly clouds Chinese skies. Until recently, any mention of deaths relating to pollution was strictly censored.

Chen’s claim came in a commentary in December’s issue of the Lancet, the respected medical journal, co-written with Wang Jinnan, Ma Guoxia and Zhang Yanshen from China’s Ministry of Environmental Protection.

“Studies by the World Bank, WHO, and the Chinese Academy for Environmental Planning on the effect of air pollution on health concluded that between 350,000 and 500,000 people die prematurely each year as a result of outdoor air pollution in China,” Chen and his fellow authors wrote. He added that air pollution had become “the fourth biggest threat to the health of Chinese people” – behind heart disease, dietary risk and smoking – and that lung cancer was “now the leading cause of death from malignant tumours in the country”.

My Opinion:
The pollution in china is so bad; not just the air pollution but water as well and the river in china is form dark red to brown and even you can light the river on fire over there. Crops that been grown there and watered with polluted water. Crop that have been imported from China you would expect high level of Lead (Pb), Mercury (Hg), Cadmium (Cd) and many heavy metals. With China’s Coal fired power plants they don’t have those Scrubber technology that remove the toxic element and only the Carbon Dioxide and Water that exits in the atmosphere. The Coal fired Power Plants here in New Zealand is one of the cleanest in the world because they will have the scrubber technology. Problem is; China doesn’t have any environmental regulation. Here in New Zealand you not allow wash cow dropping down into the river from the milking shed because of the environmental regulation.
There video on you tube about China water pollution like to see China to clean up their act by having scrubber technology into their coal fired powered to make them more cleaner and have water treatment plants to make rivers cleaner.

University Bans Unvaccinated Students from School After Mumps Outbreak

One university in New York is telling students they can’t attend class if they haven’t been vaccinated after a mumps break, which has been plastered across mainstream media outlets. The worst part is that the students suffering from the rash of mumps cases were all vaccinated.

There are 13 confirmed cases now, and more confirmations are coming in every day. School officials acted without cause, and officially banned all students who didn’t have a mumps vaccine, even though the students affected were the ones vaccinated. Students with a mumps vaccine were allowed to attend classes, despite the findings that there may have been an issue with vaccinations. This is just one more example of the dim decisions made by a brainwashed public – including institutions of higher learning, which should know better.

Concerns first arose when Fordham University students came down with flu-like symptoms, which later turned out to be adult mumps in every single case. When the number of students suffering from similar symptoms kept increasing, vaccination records were looked into as a possible suggestion for the cause. The inquiry led to the unusual discovery that not one of the infected students was unvaccinated, but that every single case had been.
